You open your email and see the subject line: "Congratulations! You have been awarded a 50% Scholarship!" You are excited. You start packing your bags. Stop. Before you accept that offer, you need to understand exactly what it means. Many students accept partial scholarships only to find themselves stranded abroad.
1. Fully Funded Scholarships (The Golden Ticket)
A Fully Funded scholarship is the dream. It means the organization pays for everything. Your only job is to study.
Examples: Turkiye Burslari, Chevening (UK), Fulbright (USA), CSC (China).
- Tuition: 100% Paid.
- Accommodation: Paid (Dormitory) or Monthly Allowance provided.
- Flight Ticket: Paid (Round trip).
- Stipend: You get "Pocket Money" every month.
Fully funded means peace of mind to focus entirely on your studies.
2. Partially Funded Scholarships (The Trap?)
!
The "Tuition Only" Offer
Most partial scholarships only cover 50% or 100% of the school fees. They do not cover your life outside the classroom.

The Hidden Costs
Even if school is free, you must pay for Rent ($200-$800/mo), Food ($200/mo), Insurance, and Flight Tickets ($1000+).

The Big Question
Ask yourself: "Can my family send me $500 every single month?" If the answer is No, a partial scholarship might be a burden, not a blessing.
